Below is information regarding the programs and services that the Wyoming county Sheriff's Office has to offer.

 

​The Sheriff's Office is responsible for serving a wide variety of Civil Processes such as, but not limited to;
  • Bench Warrants issued by the Court of Common Pleas
  • Orders of possession
  • Mortgage Foreclosures
  • Sheriff Sales
  • Protection from Abuse Orders
  • Domestic Relations Contempt Papers
  • Domestic Relations Bench Warrants
The Wyoming County Sheriff's Office is also responsible for the transportation of individuals incarcerated or sentenced by the Wyoming County Courts.  This would include transporting inmates to and from State Correctional Facilities as well as County facilities.
 
Courtroom security, as well as the security in the Courthouse and Human Services Building are under the direction and the responsibility of the Sheriff's Office.  Deputy Sheriffs work the screening checkpoints and work hard to prevent weapons entering the Courthouse in the wrong hands.  The deputies are also assigned to protect Judges and courtroom personnel to ensure their safety. 
 
The Sheriff of Wyoming County issues License to Carry Firearms to Wyoming County residents and residents of other states who possess a valid License to Carry issued by their home state as well.
 
Licenses to Sell Firearms and Precious Metals Licenses can be obtained in the Sheriff's Office.

*** LICENSES THAT EXPIRED ON MARCH 19, 2020 OR LATER HAVE BEEN EXTENDED TO SEPTEMBER 30, 2020 BY ORDER OF GOVERNOR WOLF***

We are processing applications by MAIL ONLY at this time.  Please mail your completed application (2 pages), a copy of your driver's license, and a copy of your current/expired license to carry (only needed for renewals). Please complete ALL sections of the application, sign and date.  Missing information will delay processing. We will notify you within 45 days to schedule your appointment to complete the process.   • Applicant must be 21 years of age
  • Pennsylvania applicants must be a resident of Wyoming County
  • Applicant must ​provide Drivers License or DMV issued Identification Card with current address
  • License fee: WE DO NOT ACCEPT CASH! $20.00 payable by Check or Money Order; $21.95 payable by Credit/Debit card

OUT OF STATE RESIDENTS: 
In order to obtain a License to Carry from our office, you must have a current License to Carry from your state of residence. Please fill out the application below (2 pages) and mail it to our office along with a copy (front and back) of your Drivers License and a copy (front and back) of the License to Carry from your state. 
WE DO NOT ACCEPT EMAILS.  WE DO NOT ACCEPT WALK-INS.
